FAQs & Hidden Features
Q: I have problems starting or using ScenalyzerLive
- what should I do?
A: Get the latest version of ScenalyzerLive from www.scenalyzer.com.
Install the latest version of DirectX from www.microsoft.com/directx.
Install the latest service packs for your system and use the latest
drivers for your capture-card.

Q: When I open the files captured by ScenalyzerLive,
they only show in a resolution of 360x288 or 360x240 - what's
wrong?
A: ScLive always writes files with the full resolution, however
Type1 DV-files are normally decoded by the MS-DV Codec, which by default
displays the video only in half resolution. Either capture Type2 files
(for Premiere 6.0) or download and start the file http://www.scenalyzer.com/hires.reg
to set the MS-DV codec to high-resolution.
Q: I have problems opening the files captured by
ScLive in my editing-application, what should I do?
A: Check or uncheck the option "write type2 DV-avi files"
and capture the files again. If the application still can't read the
files, check the option "write type2 DV-avi files" and make
sure a video for windows (vfw) DV codec is installed on your system.
There is a free trial version of a fine DV codec available at www.mainconcept.com.
Q: How does batch capturing work with ScenalyzerLive?
A: Create a tape-index. Then put a checkmark on the left-bottom
of each index-scene to mark it for batch capturing. Push Start-Batch
and ScLive will batch-capture the marked scenes.

Q: Which codec does ScenalyzerLive use and
how can I set the codec?
A: ScenalyzerLive doesn't need to use a codec for capturing or
playback. It uses the MS-DV codec for displaying pictures in the program.
Your editing-application will normally use the MS-DV codec for type1 files
and the currently installed vfw DV codec for type2 files. If for example
the mainconcept codec is installed on your system, then type2 DV files
are "mainconcept codec files".
Q: What are the system-requirements for ScenalyzerLive?
A: A PC with Windows 98se, ME or 2000 and Directx8. A video capture
card that uses DV compression, e.g. OHCI 1394-cards, RT2000, DV200/300/500
or PRO-One (Playback-functionatity currently not supported with Pinnacle
Drivers and Canopus DV Storm). IDE hard disks
are normally fast enough if the DMA-transfer mode is enabled. Just try
out ScLive on your individual system.
Q: How can I update ScenalyzerLive with a newer version
from the website www.scenalyzer.com and will
my registration-key still be valid with the newer version?
A: Just download the latest trial version and replace the sclive.exe
file on your computer with the newer version. You don't have to enter
the Registration-Key again.
